As this year draws to a close, we reflect on the challenges we’ve faced but also the increased opportunity, awareness and value of IoT solutions across consumer and business markets. We’ve seen sensor technologies and aligned data science initiatives continue to have a huge impact here in Aotearoa and globally in assisting various COVID-19 efforts across healthcare, logistics & supply chain, education, remote access & working to name a few.
The NZ IoT Alliance has continued efforts this year to connect, promote and advance IoT across industry, government, education institutions and startups. Our focus has been on driving collaboration awareness and supporting and facilitating partnerships. Key activities this year have been our thought-provoking Connect events across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch with topics covering:
- Progress in Rural Connectivity (AKL) – NZIoTA & Agritech NZ
- Connectivity and On-Farm Connected Devices (CHCH) – Agritech NZ & NZIoTA
- IoT underpinning Data-Driven Innovation – the role of IoT in the Industry Transformation Plan (WGTN) – NZIoTA & NZTech
- CleanTech innovations in New Zealand (AKL) – NZIoTA & BioTech NZ
- IoT and Smart Cities (AKL) – NZIoTA & Tech Futures Lab
We’ve also continued to develop and frame our Working Group initiatives: Education, Security, Smart Cities, SME Sector and building on our partnerships and member, industry, Government support mechanisms.
We look forward to hitting the ground again early next year with more Connect and Inform events, Working Group activities and showcasing what our members are doing to really accelerate and realise the value potential of IoT across our personal and work lives.
We’d like to thank all our members for their support and sustained involvement in driving IoT forward in NZ.
Wishing you all a safe, enjoyable festive season and we look forward to engaging together through our various initiatives in 2022.
Ngā mihi nui,
The team at NZ IoT Alliance
